At last, the long-awaited first look poster and the teaser of Vidya Balan's upcoming biopic, Shakuntala Devi, has been unveiled. Vidya Balan as the 'human calculator' Shakuntala Devi looks uncannily similar and the hairdo was aptly done. The poster has the actress in short hair, donning red saree. The story with be based on Shakuntala Devi's life and her genius journey into becoming a renowned Mathematics.
Vidya Balan unveiled the first look of the poster on her Twitter and she wrote -"Excitement is multiplying each day! Time to dig into the root of the mathematical genius". Soon after her tweet, netizens poured best wishes and praises over her unprecedented look. Kudos to the makeup artist who was determined to make her look exactly like Shakuntala Devi.
The film is being directed by Anu Menon and it will release in the summer of 2020. However, the biopic will be a crucial film for Vidya Balan as playing the role of Shakuntala Devi is not an easy task. Shakuntala Devi, also known as Human-Computer, has earned a place in 1982's Guinness Book of World Records. She is also a writer, astrologer, besides a mathematician. To portray all these together on screen is indeed a big deal and we believe talented actress like Vidya Balan can easily manage to depict them.
The actress also expressed her joy over being a part of the film. "I'm very excited to play Shakuntala Devi's role on the big screen. She was truly someone who embraced her individuality, had a strong feminist voice and braved many a naysayer to reach the pinnacle of success," she quoted. She further said, "I will get a bob haircut to look like her. So the curly bob and my classic South Indian face is a good match for the part."
