Plus Points:
• All 3 actors (Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim) have given good performance.
• The biggest plus is that the film is based on a true story, though it’s inspired from a Hollywood film.
• It’s well executed by director Shonali Bose.
• Good production values (Locations, sets, costumes)
• Emotional scenes are well captured (Kartik Vijay & Nick Cooke).
Minus Points:
• No face value. Farhan Akhtar and Priyanka Chopra don’t have that kind of fan following.
• The youth will not patronise it.
• It lacks in typical Bollywood entertainment like action, romance, comedy. It has no light moments.
• Too many flashbacks make cinegoers confused.
• Film is only for elite audience, critics and festival circuit. Single and masses will give it a miss.
• It’s too lengthy. Needs trimming (Manas Mittal)
• Music - No hit number (Pritam).
Box Office:
Since “War” is doing great in its second week, film will go widely unnoticed. Opening was low in the morning shows with only 5% occupancy..
Note.
When the entire country is under deep recession, no one would like to go and see a depressing film.
