Bollywood Movies Review-Narendra Gupta

1)FILM :Bala Review

RATING :3.5/5
DURATION :133 Minutes
STAR CAST:Ayushmann khurana, Yami Gautam, Bhumi Pednekar, Javed Jaffrey.
PRODUCER :Dinesh Vijan.

PLUS POINTS :

1)Ayushmann khurana is brilliant in his acting & delivered an award winning performance. Hats off to him for selecting a story which most of the successful actors would turn down. His dream run on box-office continues( Bareilly ki Barfi,Shubh Mangal Saavdhan,Andhadhun,Badhaai Ho,Article 15,Dream Girl)and this movie will mark his 7th consecutive hit. This movie also highligts his dancing skills, who has done a commendable job, also not to forget the Tik-Tok video created on screen by Ayushmaan & Yami consisting hit number of 90’s is simply awesome! Yami looks beautiful and has played her part well. The film is also very well supported by Saurabh Shukla,Seema Pahwa and Javed Jaffrey. Dheerandra Kumar Gautam,(who plays the role of Ayushman’s brother) and lastly, Vijay Razz who is the narrator of the entire story need a special mention .

2) Director Amar Kaushik (film:Stree fame) has done a good job and made the film  entertaining throughout. Film touches you emotionally too.

3) Story & Screenplay(Niren Bhatt) are superb and dialogues’ are simply outstanding and make you laugh most of the time.

4)Locations of Lucknow & Kanpur are well exploited. Also the culture & laungauge has been adapted remarkably.

5)Last but not the least ‘Bala” can no way be compared to “Ujda Chaman”as speculated by many. The only similarity being the balding subject.

MINUS POINTS :
1)Bhumi Pednekar’s charcter is quite disappointing. Her make-up as a dark skinned girl is too inconsistent.

2)Music (Sachin-Jigar, B-Praak,&Jaani ) is minus point of the film as there are no original chart busters. The two popular songs,"Don't be shy” is originally from the album "Rouge" which is composed by Dr Zeus and the other "Naah Goriye " is by Harry Sandhu.

3)Climax is left mid-way as the audience will have no clue about the ending and future of Ayushmaan, which may disappoint the viewers.

BOX OFFICE:
Film promos have generated huge hype & good reviews alongwith positive word of mouth would ensure very good business .Further, due to huge fan following of Ayushmaan among the youth, weekend collection is expected to be 35 to 40 cr and the film is sure to cross the 100 cr mark in the second week.

Buisness rating:5/5

2)FILM :Bypass Road Review

RATING :2/5
STAR CAST:Neil Nitin Mukesh, Adah Sharma, Shama Sikander, Sudhanshu Pandey,Gul Panang,Rajit Kapur.
PRODUCER :Madan Paliwal, Neil Nitin Mukesh.

PLUS POINTS :
1)Neil Nitin Mukesh has done a decent job and is very effective in number of scenes.

2) Production values  are of good standards (Locations, Photography, Sound & other technical aspects).

3) Second half of the film has lots of twists and turns with many surprise elements keeping the viewers engaged in the drama.

4) Audiences who enjoy thrill would love this film, especially the climax which is shocking and unexpected.

5)Director Naman Nitish Mukesh marks his debut as a director and does a decent job but is handicapped by poor story & screenplay.

MINUS POINTS :
1) Film has no face value. Neither Neil ,Adah Sharma or Shama sikander has any fan following.

2) Music(Sharib Toshi,Raaj Ashoo,Rohan-Roshn) is the biggest drawback of the movie with no hit number ( except remix number “So Gaya ye Jahan " from Tezaab).

3) Due to too many flashbacks, almost after every two minutes, the viewer is likely to get confused.

4) In the first half, the story hardly moves. Many plots run parallelly which is too confusing.

5) Very thin story line. Screenplay(Neil Nitin Mukesh)is written as per convenience of the writer and just to confuse the viewers. Dialouges too are pretty ordinary.

6) The title is ordinary and fails to create the desired impact of this thriller.

BOX OFFICE:
There is hardly any buzz in the trade and most of the audience is hardly aware of this film being released. On Friday opening was 0 to 5% .

BUISNESS RATING:1/5

3) FILM: Satellite Shankar (Proud of our Indian Army) Review

RATING:2.5/5.
PRODUCER:Murad Khetani & Ashwin Warde.

PLUS POINTS:
1)Sooraj Pancholi has given a good performance. In fact, this should have been his debut film. He is good in dance, emotions & action.

2)Director Irfan Kamal has chosen quite a different subject, which hardly any director would have dared to attempt. He succeeds in making a good film and also conveys a message about the sacrificing soldiers who fight for their countrymen at borders which is unpredictable.

3) There is an underlying theme of patriotism.

4) Locations are beautifully captured by Cinematographer (Jitan Harmeet Singh).

MINUS POINTS:
1)Film has poor face value.Sooraj Pancholi’s debut film “Hero”(2015)got bombed & this is the south actress’s (Megha Akash) first film, who is hardly known in bollywood.

2)Story line is very thin without much twists & turns. Dialouges too are ordinary and fail to evoke the desired patriotic feeling. Many dialogues are in punjabi, tamil, bengali etc., without subtitles which may not go well with the audience.

3)Music (Mithoon,Rochak Kohli,Tanishk Bhagchi & Sandeep Shirodkar) disappoints badly.

4) Too much importance has been given to social media on Satellite Shankar’s brave work, which is quite unlikely in today’s time.

5)Film has been devoid of the typical Bollywood entertainment.

BOXOFFICE:
“Satellite Shankar” is a well-intentioned film which will not disappoint the viewers. Film has released along with Bala, that too without any promotion and poor marketing. Hence, box office collections are likely to be very very disappointing.

BUISNESS RATING:1/5
